Zion detects a massive amount of internet activity coming from the Sokyeo residence in the form of a geometric vortex. He then realizes the same patterns are happening in the clouds above Garfield Park. After finding out which servers are responsible, Zion attempts a brute force attack on the server by flooding it with traffic. While the attack is happening, Gou detects the intrusion and cuts the power. Not long after the shutdown, Gou finds out who rooted his Powernet cluster and confronts the perpetrator. Meanwhile, questions about Chino’s past and mental illness are discussed at dinner. While eating, Vero shares a story about their work at the Particle Research Acceleration Lab twenty years ago, treading carefully around specifics. During the flashback, Chino and Vero witness spin for the first time only to catch a terrifying glimpse of what would happen if humans ever misused the math. For everyone's safety, Chino meets with the leader of the Skeleton Crew to help protect the secrets and bury them underground until our civilization proved it was responsible enough to manage the technology. A nobleman and believer of divine math, Quan helps Chino hide the work. Back to the present, Chino has no idea his work was found by his son Gou, much less that it's being re-worked from within their home. In the end, Zion must come to terms with a decision on whether to trick on Gou or work with him on perhaps the greatest discovery of all time.
